Deleting your account and data
Last updated 20 October 2026
This page explains how to ask for your SentinelPro account and the information linked to it to be deleted, what we delete, and what has to be kept. SentinelPro is provided by Helix-FMS Ltd.
1. How to ask
Email us with the subject “Data deletion request”, or send a privacy or data request through our contact form. In the SentinelPro app, Settings › Request account deletion brings you to this page.
Please include:
- the email address you use to sign in;
- your name as it appears on the account;
- the organisation you carry out surveys for;
- whether you want your account closed, or only certain information deleted.
We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act, so that we never close the wrong account. Your account is managed by the organisation you survey for, so we will tell them about your request.
2. What happens to your account
- Your account is closed. You can no longer sign in to the app or the web platform, and any sign-ins on your devices stop working.
- Your access is removed from every site and drawing you could see.
- Website enquiries you sent us through this site are deleted.
3. What is kept, and why
Surveys you have already uploaded are not deleted, and they keep your name as the surveyor.
Survey records, including inspections, photos and the reports made from them, belong to the organisation you carried out the surveys for, not to the individual surveyor. They are its record of the fire-safety work on a building. Your name stays on them as evidence of who carried out each inspection, which the organisation relies on to meet its fire-safety duties and in case of later legal claims, sometimes many years after the work.
Your organisation decides what happens to its survey records, so a request to change or remove them is for it to decide. Contact it directly, or contact us and we will pass your request on and help it deal with it.
We also keep the platform's security and audit log, which records actions such as sign-ins and changes to records, to protect the service and the records in it.
4. Data on your device
Removing the app from your phone or tablet deletes everything it stored on that device. You can also use Settings › Remove downloaded data in the app. Any work that has not been synced is lost when you do either, so sync first.
5. How long it takes
We reply within one month, as UK data protection law requires. If a request needs longer, for example because your organisation has to confirm something, we will tell you why and when to expect it.
Copies held in our backups are overwritten as the backups roll over, within 12 months at most, and are never used to restore a deleted account.
6. More information
Our privacy policy explains what we collect, who is responsible for it and your other rights.
